Jewelry Design Series: Wanderlust Collection

August 18, 2020

In August 2019 I embarked on a month-long round-the-world trip with my family.

We visited India, Thailand and Australia and I can't even begin to tell you how inspired I was - but I'll try!

I wrote a blog post about my India experience, which was where I was inspired the most. We got to see the Taj Mahal at sunrise, peacocks in the hotel (which used to be a maharajah’s palace), gemstone shopping (I bought topaz and moonstones), fed and watered elephants at a sanctuary and so much more.

Below you'll see some of the inspiration and pieces in the Wanderlust Collection.

Thailand

Visiting the temples is where I got my inspiration from in Thailand.

Below you'll see some of the pieces that were directly inspired by that beautiful, lush country.

The design elements that are used in the temples are just exquisite, the attention to the small details really spoke to me!

Australia

Our trip to Australia was only 6 days, but we certainly made the most of it!

While I was there, I was able to go opal shopping! I picked up a lot of Boulder Opals. I haven't used them yet, but I am working on some designs for them. I'm hoping to release them soon!

Here's one of the necklaces I made using one of the opals and a tanzanite (sorry, it's already sold):

I was able to visit some Opal vendors and view the largest opal I have ever seen!

The architecture of the Sydney Opera House and Harbor Bridge was so inspiring - I loved the geometry.
