I hand carved this bezel and had it cast into recycled sterling silver. Then I soldered it to my wheat braid wedding band for a simple yet stunning amethyst ring. I set a 5mm square cushion amethyst gemstone into it, oxidized it to show texture and gave it a high polish to finish it up. This is a gorgeous ring to wear alone or stacked with other gemstone rings.
This is one of my favorite rings for it's simplicity and special meaning. It reminds me of wheat and the story of The Little Prince, by Antoine de Saint Exupery. Specifically the part about taming the fox. When the fox meets the Prince they are strangers, and the fox asks the Little Prince to tame him. He says, "The wheat fields have nothing to say to me. And that is sad. But you have hair that is the color of gold. Think how wonderful that will be when you have tamed me! The grain, which is also golden, will bring me back to the thought of you.
