Morganite Stud Earrings Silver Wrought
This beautiful pair of morganite earrings are part of my Wrought collection, inspired by the ironwork I see in my walks through the city. I hand carved the bezels and had them cast into recycled sterling silver, oxidized them slightly and then set 5mm faceted pink morganites into them. These are so sweet- like a whisper of pink.
Morganite was discovered in 1910 by the chief gemologist at Tiffany's, George Kunz. He suggested it be named after the American financier, J.P. Morgan who was Tiffany's best customer. It's a beautiful, sparkly gemstone with a hint of blush pink.
This is a unique piece since it was carved with my hands, this is not a mass manufactured bezel. Everything is made with my own two hands in my tiny NYC studio. The stud earrings have a sterling post and nut.
