Who Else Needs A Fresh Perspective?

October 13, 2018

It's been over 4 months of blood, sweat and tears, but launch day is almost here! I am feeling all the things that come with putting something you made from your heart and with your hands out into the world: joy, fear, excitement, doubt and all the jitters!

I wanted to share the reason behind this new launch because it's very personal to me. And maybe you can relate?

The past two years have been pretty rough for me personally.

There have quite a few things that have happened in my life and in the world that have been devastating. I'm not going into details because that's not what's important here.

What's important is the result that comes from going through those hard times that matters. The phoenix from the ashes (if I may call myself a phoenix-- Harry Potter fans you feel me).

It's been really hard to find a way to make sense of it all-- and even harder to figure out ways to affect change.

So I worked through my feelings of powerlessness and decided to do what I do best: create jewelry that fills the world with beauty and joy so that I can give back to my community.

As you know, every one of my pieces is handmade with love and intention NYC. It's important to me that my work stays handmade, stays local and is ethically made from eco friendly metals and gemstones.

These are the core values of my business and what makes my work unique (well that and a pinch of metalsmithing magic). ✨

I've also decided to make my community service a bigger part of the Metalicious mission. Since I started my business 13 years ago, I've donated a portion of my profits to City Harvest on behalf of you-- my beloved customers.

This year I've made a commitment to raise a crazy-huge amount of money for them-- $30,000. It's my way of affecting change and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I'll talk more about this in the next few months.

On Monday October 15th, we're launching over 20 new styles!! I'm so proud, honored and excited about each new piece and hope you will be, too.

But I will also be donating a larger portion of the profits from my website sales directly to City Harvest. Please know that when you are purchasing a Metalicious jewel, you are directly helping feed New Yorkers who need it the most.

Thank you for your support and love, it's an honor to make my jewelry for you!

And if you can relate, feel free to comment below. We need to lift one another up during these times.

With all my love,

Stephanie
