Stephanie Maslow-Blackman Garnet Gals (and Guys) Garnets are the birthstone for January babies and are also given on the 2nd and 6th wedding anniversaries.Did you know that garnets come in reds, purples, oranges, pinks and even greens (tsavorites are garnets)? But the most common garnets are red. No matter the color, they are all gorgeous to me!I like wearing garnets in the New Year, not only is it a seasonal color for this time of the year, but I also find that it helps me to feel more grounded after a hectic holiday season and it helps me to focus on the year to come. This is the time I like to look forward to the year ahead and set goals for myself and my company and the garnet helps me to lead the company in the direction that it needs to go.This is because red garnets can help balance your Base, or Root, Chakra. Your base chakra is about your physical body feeling grounded and rooted and secure. When your Base Chakra is in balance, your body is strong and you have stamina. You feel secure and have a sense of your own power which shows up as having independence and leadership.Red hued crystals are helpful in restoring balance to the Base Chakra. The benefits of just a few minutes a day with one of these crystals resting on your lap for 5 - 10 minutes are substantial.Wearing red gemstones is also a great way to be mindful to balance your base chakra. The benefits are enhanced if your crystal therapy is coupled with Yoga positions that focus on your lower back. It's also great to incorporate activities that connect you with nature and the earth like nature walks, hiking, gardening, rock collecting, and spending time outdoors.Garnet's powers include healing, strength, and protection and it is often worn to relieve inflammations of the skin. It is also believed to regulate the heart and blood flow and aid in curing depression.  If you would like to have your very own garnet jewelry, you can find a selection here.We have a blog post all about chakras, if you're unfamiliar and want to know more!

Garnet Gals (and Guys)

Posted on January 04 2019

Garnets are the birthstone for January babies and are also given on the 2nd and 6th wedding anniversaries.

Did you know that garnets come in reds, purples, oranges, pinks and even greens (tsavorites are garnets)? But the most common garnets are red. No matter the color, they are all gorgeous to me!

I like wearing garnets in the New Year, not only is it a seasonal color for this time of the year, but I also find that it helps me to feel more grounded after a hectic holiday season and it helps me to focus on the year to come. This is the time I like to look forward to the year ahead and set goals for myself and my company and the garnet helps me to lead the company in the direction that it needs to go.

This is because red garnets can help balance your Base, or Root, Chakra. Your base chakra is about your physical body feeling grounded and rooted and secure.

When your Base Chakra is in balance, your body is strong and you have stamina. You feel secure and have a sense of your own power which shows up as having independence and leadership.

Red hued crystals are helpful in restoring balance to the Base Chakra. The benefits of just a few minutes a day with one of these crystals resting on your lap for 5 - 10 minutes are substantial.

Wearing red gemstones is also a great way to be mindful to balance your base chakra. The benefits are enhanced if your crystal therapy is coupled with Yoga positions that focus on your lower back.
