Jewelry Design Series: The Wheat Collection

June 23, 2020

Welcome to my Jewelry Design series!

This week I'm talking about my inspiration for the Wheat Collection -- known for it's braided wheat texture and simple bezel set gemstones.

I grew up in the country, near farms in Western New Jersey so nature is a big part of what inspires me. I'm also an ex-English major and love reading. Literature also informs a lot of my work.

The Wheat Collection is inspired by fields of wheat and the story of The Little Prince, by Antoine de Saint Exupery, specifically the part about taming the fox.

When the fox meets the Prince they are strangers, and the fox asks the Little Prince to tame him. He says, "The wheat fields have nothing to say to me. And that is sad. But you have hair that is the color of gold. Think how wonderful that will be when you have tamed me! The grain, which is also golden, will bring me back to the thought of you. And I shall love to listen to the wheat in the wind.”

"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."
-Antoine de Saint Exupery

Here are some of my favorites from the collection:

Green Tourmaline Wedding Set Wedding Band set

Aquamarine Wheat Ring Morganite Ring in Rose Gold

The rings, made from recycled metals, are engraved with that fabulous wheat texture. It causes your eye to move around the band and give it an energy matched by those glowing gemstones. Looking for unconventional engagement rings that everyone will be sure to obsess over? Then look no further!
