Aquamarine is a beautiful aqueous blue gemstone, and it is the March birthstone. It is also given on the 16th and 19th wedding anniversaries.
Aquamarines are always blue but can be different shades, ranging from light blue to teal to blue-green (though these are mostly heat treated). I love the pale hint of blue and the high amount of sparkle they have, and I love working with them for many reasons.
Aquamarine is believed to give the wearer foresight, courage and happiness as well as increase intelligence and make one youthful (I think we could all use some of those wonderful attributes!). It is also said to be effective as a treatment for anxiety.
As with all our blog posts about gemstones, we like to include some information about how the stones relate to the chakras. If you’d like to read up on chakras, we’ve written this blog post for you which goes into detail the chakras and how they might affect you if they are unbalanced.
For today, let's talk about aquamarines:
Aquamarine is associated with the throat chakra (or fifth chakra), it helps to overcome the fear of speaking and is an excellent stone for teachers and presenters. It helps people to speak with wisdom, clarity and conviction. If the throat chakra is unbalanced, you may find yourself unable to speak your truth when you need it the most, or holding back on expressing your needs and desires.
All in all, not only is a beautiful stone (especially for people that love those cooler toned gemstones), it can be a powerful stone for overcoming fears of talking in public and speaking your truth.
As someone who has anxiety, I've used aquamarine and lavender essential oil to help me work past my fears of public speaking. Today I'm able to present to large companies, teach classes and negotiate confidently because of these powerful talismans.
Aquamarines are truly special stones, and have been very effective for me personally. I'd love to make something special for you or a loved one! Shop for the full range of my Aquamarine jewelry.
