Amethyst is your birthstone and is also given on the 4th, 6th and 17th wedding anniversaries.
Amethysts are part of the quartz family which can be found in many colors, but only a purple quartz is an amethyst. That said, amethyst has varying shades of purple, such as deep purple, light lilac, lavender and mauve or even green.
On a spiritual level, Amethyst helps with any issues you might be having with your crown chakra.
The crown chakra is located at the very top of your head and connects you to the universe. It is the gateway of energy to the other chakras in your body and it controls how we think and respond to the world around us.
You feel open minded, like you truly fit in the world and that you know your place in the universe. You see things as they are and let things roll off your back.
